Cottage cheese is like tofu, it's the texture that is the attraction, not the "taste." Immature palates often don't appreciate food textures, going for the more obvious "wow" factors of hot, sour, sweet, salty, spicy. You can spice cottage cheese up with something as simple as salt and pepper, or be more adventurous with cayenne pepper. Sliced peaches and cottage cheese make a good combo--the tangy, tart, sweet smoothness of the peaches contrasting with the fatty, chunky mouth feel of the cottage cheese. Cottage cheese can add body to eggs--drain the cottage cheese well (drain it real well) and make it the filling for an omelet. Experiment--cottage cheese is inexpensive and a good source of protein and various vitamins and minerals. For those of us restricting fats, low-fat and no-fat cottage cheeses retain the body and chunkiness, although without that wonderful fatty mouth feel.

I like cottage cheese and beetroot on dry crackers - sounds a little odd, but reserve your judgement until you have tried it. Bloody delicious!

Cottage cheese and lettuce and some egg salad very tasty! Mix things like fruits(pineapple!) into it also... Most folks thing strange but I like it straight up with some saltine crackers!
